Summer in Bloom

It might surprise you to know that initially when I started my photography  journey I resisted the idea of photographing flowers!  Now they are one of my favorite subjects to work with.  I usually use my 90mm macro lens, but sometimes I choose a Lensbaby Sweet 50 with extension tubes. The Sweet 50 produces wonderfully soft images - but I need the extension tubes to cut the focusing distance of the lens and make it behave like a macro lens.  The 90mm macro lens lets me get in real close for details and produces wonderful bokeh.  I enjoy other genres of photography, but getting up close to a subject with a macro lens gives me the greatest joy.
