I've never thought of myself as much of a gardener, but this year a comment from an Instagram follower made me consider taking a mental inventory of all the different flowers that I grow. I was pleasantly surprised and had to grudgingly admit that perhaps I had inherited a love of gardening after all. What follows is actually only a sampling of what grows in our yard.
Along with the flowers in the garden, there are a number of welcome visitors to the garden. The bees and lady bugs and the dragon flies make the rounds. And as well there are the birds that come to our feeders and to make use of the bird bath under the lilac tree. We even see the neighour's bengal cat, Lincoln from time to time. He wears a bell to warn the birds of his presence. And there is the occasional rabbit, although the later is not quite so welcome! He likes to eat some of my plantings before they even have a chance to bloom!
I just might have to admit to having a green thumb afterall!
